This one almost didn’t make it onto the album for a number of reasons. But I couldn’t help myself-this one just tells a vivid story to me, the way the theme comes in and out, the arc of the dynamics…it sounds purposeful and connected.

I’m not sure what the story is, though. Are we talking about a disease of the body or of the mind? Or a disease of society? Or a zombie apocalypse, for that matter? I suppose at different times I hear the story differently. That sort of ambiguity is one of the things I love about instrumental music.
